Fabric

I think I started sewing when I was about 12 after doing sewing classes at Tawa Intermediate, Wellington in the 80's.

I had always made things, and wasn't that great at it, but loved the satisfaction of sewing my own clothes. My Auntie Sandie could make anything; my Grandmother, Jean Tonks, sewed a lot including knits; and our neighbour as kids in Tawa, and second Grandma, Mrs (Betty) Lumley, was an amazing sewer.

Selecting fabrics for the shop is difficult as there is so much to choose from and such limited space so have a great range of basics, some interesting prints, and upholstery fabrics as find them.
